What is customer relations?

Customer relations, often closely related to customer relationship management, is geared to keeping customers' satisfaction levels as high as possible before and after the sales process. It is wider in scope than customer support in so far as it's not necessarily only about solving customer issues but in providing a superior experience compared to the competition.

Customer relations careers

Often those in the role of a customer relations manager or head of customer relations have a wide range of responsibilities associated with their position. Their job is to ensure that customers receive the right after-service advice and consultation if they have a problem, while it can also involve providing a good quality service before purchase. Generally speaking, however, those in more junior positions handle customers or clients personally, over the phone, over the internet or in person, and those who are dealing with customers on a daily basis can earn between £20-30K, while others placed in managerial roles are paid more.
